BIOSTIMULATION
Biostimulation is an advanced aesthetic treatment that uses bioactive substances to stimulate the skin’s natural cell regeneration process.
This procedure is particularly suitable for those wishing to improve the health, elasticity and general appearance of the skin of the face, hands, neck and décolleté, and is especially recommended for patients under 35 years of age.
Biostimulation treatment involves administering products that stimulate fibroblasts to be more active by means of micro-injections that are generally quite superficial. The substances used include glucosamine, amino acids, PDRN, etc.
Biostimulation, like Biorevititalisation, acts on the composition of the extracellular matrix (ECM). The ECM is composed of different classes of macromolecules undergoing continuous anabolic and catabolic processes, e.g. glycosaminoglycans (hyaluronic acid) or collagen. Due to intrinsic (e.g. genetics) and extrinsic factors, the ECM can degrade over time.
Biostimulation stimulates the fibroblasts to produce substances that are useful for enriching the ECM.
Biostimulation treatment is safe and generally well tolerated by patients. A complete course of treatment involves about 4 – 6 sessions, to be carried out 7 – 10 days apart. It is recommended to repeat the treatment cycle about 2 – 3 times a year.
